Application of Ultrasonic Double Sheet Sensors in the Printing Industry
In the printing industry, ultrasonic double-sheet sensors have become essential for ensuring accurate and efficient paper transport due to their unique penetration and reflection properties. Measurement Methods of the CSDA Series Ultrasonic Double Sheet Sensors
Equipment: DADISICK CSDA18 Ultrasonic Double Sheet Sensors
Application Scenario: Measuring 80g coated paper with ultrasonic double-sheet sensors
Single-Sheet Detection:
1. Place an 80g coated paper smoothly in the middle of the sensor.
2. The sensor immediately begins working, emitting ultrasonic pulses and receiving reflected signals.
3. If the sensor’s indicator light turns green, it indicates that only one sheet is detected, i.e., a single-sheet state.
4. After removing the paper, the indicator light should turn yellow, indicating no paper in the sensor (air state).
Multiple-Sheet Detection:
1. When attempting to place two or more sheets in the middle of the sensor, regardless of whether they are closely aligned.
2. The sensor quickly identifies the significant attenuation of ultrasonic energy as it passes through multiple sheets.
3. At this point, the sensor’s indicator light should turn red, clearly indicating the detection of multiple sheets.
4. After removing the sheets, the indicator light should return to yellow, indicating that the sensor is again in a no-paper state.
Working Principle of Ultrasonic Double Sheet Sensors
The CSDA series ultrasonic double-sheet sensors consist of a transmitting end and a receiving end, and their working principle is based on the penetration and reflection characteristics of ultrasonic waves.
• Transmitting End: Responsible for emitting ultrasonic pulses, which propagate through the air and reflect when they encounter obstacles (such as paper).
• Receiving End: Receives the reflected ultrasonic signals and measures their energy levels. Since some energy is absorbed when the ultrasonic waves pass through the paper, the received energy levels will vary depending on the number and thickness of the sheets.
• Signal Processing: The sensor's internal circuitry analyzes the received ultrasonic energy levels and, based on preset algorithms, determines whether a single sheet, multiple sheets, or air is present, accordingly controlling the color of the indicator light.

Advantages of the CSDA Series Ultrasonic Double-Sheet Sensors
• Non-Contact Detection: Avoids the damage to paper caused by traditional mechanical detection, ensuring the integrity of the paper and the quality of the printing.
• High Detection Speed: Quickly responds to changes in the paper, meeting the detection requirements of high-speed printing presses and improving production efficiency.
• High Detection Accuracy: By accurately measuring changes in ultrasonic energy levels, the sensor can precisely determine the number and position of sheets, reducing false detections and omissions.
• Strong Adaptability: Suitable not only for common paper types like 80g coated paper but can also be adjusted to accommodate different materials and thicknesses based on actual needs.
• Easy Integration: The CSDA series ultrasonic double-sheet sensors are compact and lightweight, making them easy to integrate with existing printing equipment, thereby reducing retrofit costs.
