Summary
Industrial safety mats are crucial for protecting personnel and equipment. Daily maintenance involves regular cleaning with a vacuum or damp cloth, avoiding heavy pressure, keeping the safety mat dry, and periodic inspections for damage. Precautions include avoiding chemical spills, sharp objects, bending, soaking, and ensuring proper installation. Proper use, training, and storage in a dry, ventilated area prolong safety mat sensor lifespan.
Safety mat plays a vital role in industrial manufacturing environments, not only protecting personnel from accidental injury, but also ensuring the safe operation of equipment. The following guidelines and precautions for daily safety carpet maintenance are designed to help you better understand and perform this important task.
Safety Mat Daily Maintenance Guide
1. Regular Cleaning
Daily cleaning: Use a vacuum cleaner or a clean, damp rag to regularly clean the surface of the industrial safety mat to remove dust, dirt, and other debris. Avoid using abrasive tools that may damage the surface of the safety carpet.
Deep cleaning: From time to time (e.g., quarterly or as needed), use a cleaner appropriate for the safety mat sensor material for deep cleaning. Choose a cleaner with a suitable formulation, such as a special anti-static carpet cleaner, to avoid damaging the safety mat switch and compromising its anti-static properties.
2. Avoid heavy pressure
Do not leave heavy objects on the carpet for long periods of time: Ensure that heavy objects, especially sharp or hard objects, are not left on the safety mat for long periods of time to prevent deformation or damage to the safety mat.
Use evenly: In order to prolong the life of the pressure-sensitive mat, it is recommended to change the position of the pressure-sensitive safety mat periodically so that it wears evenly.
3. Keep dry
Moisture and humidity: Safety carpets should be kept dry and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or humid environments. If accidentally wet, immediately absorb the moisture with a clean cloth or paper towel and place in a ventilated area to dry.
Waterproofing measures: In the environment with a lot of oil and dirt, you can install oil-insulating materials such as wooden or plastic boards at the bottom of the industrial safety mat to prevent oil and dirt from soaking into the inside of the safety carpet.
4. Periodic Inspection
Appearance check: Check the appearance of the safety mat sensor daily to see if there is any bulge, break or crack, etc., record it in time and contact after-sales personnel to deal with it.
Performance Test: Test the function of the safety mat switch regularly, such as starting the equipment test, to ensure that the pressure-sensitive safety mat works properly.
5. Proper operation
Follow the instructions: Operate strictly according to the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations, and do not arbitrarily change the layout or connection of the safety mat.
Personnel Training: Provide necessary training to the personnel using the safety carpet, instruct them to use the carpet correctly to avoid damage caused by improper operation.

Precautions for Using Safety Carpets
1. Avoid chemical contact
It is forbidden to spill acid, alkaline or other corrosive substances on the carpet to prevent damage to the material and performance of the carpet.
2. Avoid puncture by sharp objects
Ensure that the carpet area is free of sharp objects such as nails, razor blades, etc. to prevent puncturing the safety mat sensor and damaging its internal circuit structure.
3. Proper installation and fastening
When installing the pressure-sensitive safety mat, choose a flat and uneven floor to ensure that the safety mat switch is stable and will not wobble. Use stable mounting methods such as frame mounting to prevent the pressure-sensitive mat from shifting or falling.
4. Avoid bending and soaking
The carpet contains electronic components, so do not bend it at 90° or soak it in water to avoid damaging the electronic parts.
5. Ventilation and humidity prevention
Keep the room where the rug is located well ventilated to avoid mold or insect infestation caused by a damp environment.
6. Storage
If you need to store the rug temporarily, choose a dry, ventilated environment and avoid direct sunlight. The rug should be cleaned and dried prior to storage.
