Summary
DADISICK's IP68 waterproof safety light curtains are designed for harsh environments, widely used in outdoor equipment, food processing, breweries, car washes, and other humid or liquid-exposed settings. Their excellent waterproof and dustproof performance ensures reliable operation and safety protection under these conditions.
DADISICK QRF Series Safety Light Curtains Feature an IP68 Waterproof Rating
Waterproof testing is a critical aspect of reliability testing for electronic products, designed to evaluate the enclosure's protection against foreign objects, particularly liquids such as water. The IP rating (Ingress Protection) is a standard established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to describe the level of dust and water protection provided by an electrical enclosure. The IP rating consists of two digits: the first digit indicates the level of protection against solid objects, while the second digit indicates the level of protection against liquids. Regarding waterproof testing, the levels range from 0 to 9, but it is important to note that the highest level officially defined in the standard is 8. Level 9 is mentioned in certain specific standards or applications but is not universally included in all IP rating standards. The detailed classification of waterproof levels is as follows:
IP Rating Standards
0: No protection
1: Protection against vertically falling water droplets
2: Protection against water droplets when the device is tilted up to 15°
3: Protection against spraying water
4: Protection against splashing water
5: Protection against water jets
6: Protection against powerful water jets
7: Protection against temporary immersion
8: Protection against continuous immersion
9: Protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets
Safety Light Curtain Wiring and Waterproof Testing Explained
Wiring Method for Safety Light Curtain with Controller
1. Connect the transmission cable to the safety light curtain and securely tighten the threaded connector.
2. Connect the brown wire to the 24 V DC positive power terminal of the controller.
3. Connect the blue wire to the 0 V ground terminal of the controller.
4. Connect the black CP wire.
5. Connect the red CE wire.
6. After completing the connections, test the light curtain sensor to ensure the control indicator light is flashing correctly.
The safety light curtain with IP68 waterproof rating enables it to operate stably even underwater.
